High Performance Materials

DuPont™ KEVLAR® – A man-made fiber which offers advanced cut, flame, heat and abrasion resistance without sacrificing tactile sensitivity.

KEVLAR® Armor – an engineered yarn of KEVLAR and stainless steel.

Dyneema® – A synthetic, high performance polyethylene fiber with high cut and abrasion resistance. Dyneema provides 10 times greater abrasion resistance than other leading fibers and is chemically inert so it does not deteriorate during laundering.

Carbtex® – A synthetic fiber with extremely high heat and flame resistance. Carbtex fiber is resistant to radiant energy and complies with the NFPA 70E standard for protection from the burn hazards of an electric arc.

Spectra® – A synthetic fiber with high cut resistance. Fiber is light weight, low-linting, and does not easily absorb liquids. Material withstands commercial laundry room detergents and water temperatures up to 180ø F (80ø C) and may be repeatedly bleached with diluted solution or disinfected without harm. Gloves made with Spectra are ideal for use in food processing plants.

Twaron® – A synthetic aramid fiber with high heat, flame and cut-resistance.

Stainless Steel – A corrosion-resistant metal with extremely high cut-resistant properties.

Stainless Steel Mesh – High tensile strength, corrosion-resistant stainless steel or titanium. Gloves and safety apparel made with metal mesh provide the highest level of protection against cut, slash and laceration hazards in cutting operations. The material is hygienic and easily sanitized so it is suitable for food processing operations.

General Purpose Glove Materials

Cotton – A natural fiber that provides comfort and breathability in general purpose applications and abrasion and mild heat protection in heavier weights.

Polyester – A durable, synthetic fiber with low moisture absorbency that resists shrinkage during laundering.

Cotton/Polyester – Polyester, a synthetic fiber, is blended with natural cotton fibers to increase strength and offer basic abrasion resistance.


Nylon – Nylon is a synthetic, low linting, high tensile strength fiber that offers excellent dexterity and tactile sensitivity.

Acrylic – A synthetic fiber that helps provide insulation from cold temperatures and is quick drying.

Thermostat® – Thermostat is a synthetic fiber with a hollow core that helps to provide insulation from cold temperatures to keep hands warm.

Jersey – Knit fabric that stretches to provide an excellent form fit.

Canvas – Woven fabric with napped surface on one side.

Leather – Animal skin that offers abrasion resistance.

Chemical/Liquid Resistant Materials

Latex/Natural Rubber – A natural material with excellent elasticity that provides resistance to cuts, punctures and slashes.

Nitrile – A synthetic rubber that resists snags, punctures, abrasions and cuts and provides flexibility and dexterity. Nitrile is suitable for people with latex allergies and provides good resistance to petroleum, acids and aromatic and chlorinated solvents.

Neoprene – Broad range of chemical resistance against acids, petroleum solvents and oils. Highly flexible and comfortable.

PVC (Poly-Vinyl-Chloride)/Vinyl – Suitable for people with latex allergies and provides resistance to oils, chemicals and many acids.

Butyl – Synthetic material that resists snags, abrasions, and cuts for extreme chemicals.

Tri-Polymer – Latex blended with neoprene and nitrile for extra chemical protection against a broad range of chemicals. Especially useful for splash protection in laboratory/testing and sampling situations.
